Mr. Globe-Philippines 2009 winners

Can three men garner equal scores in a competition that has around a dozen judges? Apparently yes or at least that’s how the people behind Mr. Globe-Philippines 2009 generously resolved the dilemma of distributing five major titles to seven top finalists.

(L-R) Ram Ace Bautista, Donald Bahi-an, Nicolas Philip Bacani

Ram Ace Bautista, Donald Bahi-an and Nicolas Philip Bacani are the lucky three, equally sharing the title in the male pageant participated in by 19 others on Saturday, July 4, at The Pearl Manila Hotel. Each of the winners will be taking home P20,000 in cash and will be travelling to Hong Kong for free, or so they were promised. Earlier in the night, 21-year-old Ram Ace of Cavite City and 19-year-old Donald of Zamboanga City bagged minor awards.
The other titles – Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Freedom Day (probably to observe the Fourth of July) – were respectively given out to Mark Estrada, Michael Angelo Alcaraz, TJ Roxas
and Julian Jerry Binarao. The first to fourth runners up were: Marwin Garcia, Bryan Carvajal, Shaun Mark Labor and Rafael Evangelista.

Circle of 10 winners

Sam Mison, Myko Ong, Raf Montesines, Chuckie Albert and Avery Paraiso (L-R) are the male winners of this year's Circle of 10, the model search that served as the launch pad for some of the country's popular movie and TV personalities. Now on its ninth year, the event held on June 29, 2009 at the Music Museum, was participated in by 22 guys, most of whom are barely legal. Unlike in previous years when some of the contestants seem to have been included as fillers, last Monday's line up of male teens hold promise. Even the non-winners have a striking stage presence, to name a few: Jarrel Soliman, Vince Estenso and Luis Hontiveros . If it is any consolation to those left out of the top 10, Pinoy Big Brother grand winner Ejay Falcon failed to advance even to the semifinals during the event two years ago.
